Collection: Rose Colored Glasses

This series began when I helped my mom sort through some old handbags she didn’t want anymore. I took them off her hands and started thinking about the important role that such simple objects play in our lives. My cats have been very inquisitive during this time, and in between moments of photographing old purses I would catch them in the goofiest situations.

The color palette I’ve used here is quite limited. Only shades of red, pink, and violet were allowed in the picture. This unapologetically feminine color palette emphasizes the symbolism of my subjects, while also playing with the idea that I’m choosing to see signs of positivity during times that feel deeply uncertain.
